Venting is required in process vessels and equipment for the efficient transfer of bulk materials. Displaced air during filling and make up air during emptying must be free to leave and enter the vessel, effectively allowing it to “breathe” with minimal pressure drop.
This naturally creates dust, that if not properly managed can leak out of the vent connection and into the process area. In any manufacturing plant dust leaking into the environment is a serious concern for combustible dust explosion risk as well as being a health hazard for operators.
The BFM® FM1 breather bags and LM3, LM4 permeable woven polyester connector materials keeps dust and product contained in the process while allowing the free transfer of air. The snap-in cuff of the BFM® fitting system provides a dust tight seal while also being fast and easy to remove and replace.
Venting is an important consideration in the application of the BFM® fitting system as it creates a 100% sealed process.
