Process

Vacuum

Plants that are processing dry powder products often run their equipment under slight negative pressure to avoid product leaking out of equipment and into the plant environment.

While dust leakage into the environment is avoided using negative pressure, improperly sealed flexible connections can risk contamination from air ingress.

A leaky flexible connector can also impact productivity if used in conjunction with vacuum pneumatic conveying as they allow air to be drawn in from outside the convey line reducing the efficiency of the product flow.

The snap-in system of the BFM® fitting keeps the connector ends locked in place making it ideal to use in negative pressure applications.

Ask the Tech Expert – Rings vs Flexi

Choosing the right connector is crucial to its longevity and efficacy, specifically in vacuum situations. One of our most frequently asked questions is when to use a Seeflex with rings versus a Flexi.

Although both products are visually similar, they excel at different applications and operating conditions. Watch our video to find out which BFM® connector is best suited for your application!
